will and dad go fishing

A few weeks back, Jay took Will to try out his new Spider-man fishing pole. "This will be very picture worthy," I thought, so I tagged along. Just a heads up for anybody wanting to take a 3 year old to catch fish: patience does not exist at that age. It was a short lived trip. Will reeled his line in about 20 times in 5 minutes. He was much more interested in making stuff out of the sparkly play-dough-like fish bait. No fish were caught, and don't let that sun fool you, I froze my butt off. Truth be told, I think this trip was more for Jay's entertainment. He is such a boy. (hence his nickname jay-boy) I love it. His whole self-proclaimed purpose in life is to spoil his boys rotten. It's bad. Someday they will experience death by spoiling. True story. This week's adventure includes giant monster trucks smashing cars in a big stadium (A.K.A. Monster Jam). Am I sad I am not going, heck no. Do I wish I could be there to see the look of sheer joy on that boy's face, you bet I do. Both of them.

  7. Will must have been pretty excited to try his Spiderman fishing rod. ^_^ Although he didn’t catch anything that day, it’s a good activity to share with your son. With fishing, he’ll learn how to be patient and be disciplined.
