mesa love

If you are ever in Mesa, you MUST always visit Downtown. (except on Mondays, and after 3pm because nothing ever seems to be open at that time) Jay and I took the boys out for some good ol' Downtown fun the other day. We stopped for lunch at Mangos. This is a hard commitment for me to make, but I would say that it must be my favorite Mexican food place ever...chips and salsa included. I haven't tried anything there I haven't liked. I introduced Jay boy to Antique plaza for the first time. My little history nerd enjoyed that place even more than I did. (minus having a set of grabby hands trying to get hold of all those vintage toy cars) I plan on making another trip soon...this time with no children and *hopefully* a pocket full of cash. That place is overflowing with treasures. Will got a giant Valentine's cookie from Sweet Cakes afterward. If you only eat one thing while downtown, their gooey sweet cake is the bomb. I practically swallowed mine whole (hence the lack of picture and my need for a sugar cleanse) Sometimes I miss living downtown...except the only thing I liked about that stinky small apartment was the cool sign out front and the heated swimming pool. But those historic homes are so fun to drive by and drool over.

Yes, drooling over historic homes is always a good idea.

  2. Love the photos where you're walking along the starry wall! That antique shop sounds right up my alley.. I'm already drooling over the selection of old cameras! My husband and I always want to buy them, but I never know what we'd do with them!

  10. We are kindred spirits in our love for Mexican food, there is nothing better. If we're just hitting a taco shop I usually bring an avocado from home to save $. Cheap, savvy,..... both are compliments :)
